Siberia

Siberia was originally a Santa Fe Railroad water stop and siding. When the National Old Trails Road and Route 66 passed by, service stations, cafes, and tourist camps operated out of here providing the desert traveler comfort, fuel, and mechanic services. (Photos 2001)

1918 Automobile Club Map

This map shows the three main trails across the Mojave Desert; the Midland Trail, Arrowhead Trail, and the National Old Trails Road. These roads at the time were unpaved and varied in condition and the skills involved to navigate them.
