C. W. Tucker and Main Street Saloon

Photograph of C. W. Tucker and Main Street Saloon December 1897. Photo showing Rand Street just weeks before the January, 1898 fire that destroyed the business district of Randsburg. Tucker has set up his camera and tripod to take a shot of the town. Apparently he has also had his assistant set up and take a photo of the boss in action. Although Adams & Bailey are listed in the 1898 business directory as a saloon, they actually had sold the Saloon to Mr. Underhill from Mojave in September 1897. In this photo the sign on the saloon still reads Capital Saloon. The fire reported to have started in a vacant lot between the Mohave Saloon and the White Fawn Saloon.
