Kelso Depot
Sleeping Quarters Exhibitclick the photo to continueMystery of Room 8The Kelso Depot was home to a mysterious mystery that had tongues wagging. Waitresses in Room 8 upstairs began to disappear one after another; this would happen when it was pitch dark outside. These young, polite, well-mannered women vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving many people dumbfounded. Some people thought the depot had been built on ground considered hallowed, and others felt a hex was emplaced on that section of desert. But nobody could ever find any evidence of an old graveyard or some spell attached to the land. When any of these waitresses disappeared, new girls took their place and later also vanished. This went on for so long that people started noticing the pattern, and finally, the mystery was solved. These ladies were so lonely, working in that desolate and remote place, that they would fall for the first gentleman who came along and promised them a new life away from the desert. Any curse or ghost wasn't taking them; they were just finding an exit from that lonely situation. End. |
