The Lake Adventure

Alpine Pedal Path



Walk or roll along this paved trail through a beautiful, pastoral setting near the water. Explore the shoreline, look for evidence of beavers, and smell the wildflowers (please be careful to leave them for others to enjoy!) Watchable wildlife includes bats at dawn and dusk, beavers, migrating birds, sensitive plants, coyotes, deer, and Bald Eagles in winter.

Season: Year-round

Audience: All groups, bicyclists, joggers, rollerskaters and in-line skaters, walkers, families with baby strollers

Degree of Difficulty: Easy, paved

Duration: 5 miles round trip, 1-2 hours with stops

Points of Interest: Begin at the Discovery Center, Meadow's Edge Parking Area, or any point along the way; meadows; picnic at Meadow's Edge Picnic Area; visit Stanfield Marsh, Stanfield Cut-Off, and the East Boat Launch; detour off the Alpine Pedal Path for a walk on the Woodland Trail
