Roads & Trails in the Mojave Desert Freeways & Highways Highway 178State Route 178 consists of two segments; the eastern segment which runs west from Nevada State Route 372, through Shoshone, California and then ending in the southern part of Death Valley National Park (turning north and becoming Badwater Road).
