Named for William Ludlow in 1883, Ludlow was a water stop for the Central Pacific. Water was hauled in from Newberry Springs by tank cars. As the Route 66 alignment followed the rails, Ludlow became a busy rest stop along the highway. Also see... Ludlow Cemetery & Stedman Ghost Town |
