Clown Motel

The Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada, is an unusual stop for travelers known for its clown theme and strange spot next to an old cemetery. It was built in 1985 by Leona and Leroy David to remember their father's love of clowns. The motel has more than 2,000 clown figurines, paintings, and statues inside. Being close to the 1901 Tonopah Cemetery, where miners and plague victims are buried, makes it seem even scarier. Guests claim to hear unexplained footsteps and see clown dolls moving, along with shadowy figures, making this place quite popular among ghost hunters. Many have been drawn to this place due to its supposed amusement and fright factor, popularized by social media and television shows. The current owner grew the collection to what it is today, thus making the Clown Motel somewhat spooky but very memorable to its visitors.
