Route 66 - Helendale
Elmer Long's Bottle Tree RanchAfter Elmer Long retired from the cement plant in Oro Grande he commenced working on his artistic vision, and over the last twenty years of his life he built this wonderful and colorful menagerie of bottle trees, and odds, and ends collected and donated into his outdoor gallery. Over the years the front yard of his home has been visited by locals and tourists from all over the world traveling and following the Route 66 experience. It is a shame we will no longer hear or be able to speak with Elmer Long about his life or vision, but he at least left us a legacy that will last at least as long as the Mother Road.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
