What a Difference a Little Water Makes

Desert wash
The desert comprises many different environments, Depending on elevation, temperature, and availability of water, each small environment supports different forms of plant life. Pinyon pine, juniper, and oak trees will grow in washes or places where the soil retains more moisture, Small bushes will bloom more luxuriantly after a brief rainfall.

As you walk this trail, notice the differences between plant life in the open desert and that growing along the trail.
