The Buffalo Trading Post

(Demolished for redevelopment)

The Apple Valley Buffalo Trading Post was a well-known local landmark in Apple Valley, California, situated along local highways like State Route 18, which served as a key route connecting High Desert communities. The trading post became a popular stop for visitors traveling through the region, drawn by the area's growing reputation and western charm.

The trading post featured a distinctive fiberglass buffalo that became an iconic photo opportunity and symbol of the area's heritage. It sold souvenirs, gifts, and crafts that reflected the spirit of the High Desert and its connection to Western traditions. The building was finally torn down, and the sign removed for new development, marking the end of an era for this significant part of Apple Valley's history.
