Mammals of the Oasis

Fifteen species of mammals have been observed as the oasis. Since most mammals are nocturnal, you will see few in the daytime. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to see antelope ground squirrels (Ammospermophilus leucurus), round-tailed ground squirrels (Spermophilus tereticaudus), and desert cottontails (Sylvilagus Audubonii).
