Death Valley National Park : Echo Canyon

Eye of the Needle

The Eye of the Needle is a natural rock arch in Echo Canyon, Death Valley, along a rugged 4WD road east of Furnace Creek. This small but distinctive formation is carved into the canyon wall, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and colorful sedimentary layers. The area also features the historic Inyo Mine and other unique rock formations like Hole-in-the-Wall. Due to rough terrain, high-clearance or 4WD vehicles are recommended.
