Pacific Crest Trail

Cajon to Blue Ridge

Traveling west and then north from Cajon Pass, the Pacific Crest Trail climbs from dry, brush-covered slopes into the higher San Gabriel Mountains. Chaparral and scattered woodland gradually give way to pine and fir forest as the trail gains elevation toward Blue Ridge above Wrightwood.

Open slopes offer views across the Cajon Pass corridor, the San Bernardino Mountains, and the Mojave Desert. Along the way, changes in elevation, slope exposure, and available moisture create a shifting mix of scrub, woodland, and mountain forest.
