Petroglyphs
Steam Wells Petroglyphs These petroglyphs sit in the Golden Valley Wilderness, northeast of Johannesburg/Red Mountain in the Rand District, on BLM-managed land. The panels are pecked into dark basalt boulders and include bighorn sheep and geometric designs typical of Mojave rock art. Go in cool weather, carry real water, and treat the place as fragile: look, photograph, and leave no trace, without sharing coordinates. |
