Red Top Buckwheat

Wild buckwheat plant
Wild Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum) is a low spreading, green leaved plant typical of the Mojave Desert. From the leaves, Indians made a medicine for headache. A tea was used as an eyewash. While the medicinal value of this plant is known, the value of many other desert plants is yet to be discovered.
